Something to remember

March 11th, 2007

The trick of a flower photo is background, DOF control and selective sharpness. Tony Sweet is a published photographer on this subject, when he goes to a garden, he looks for the BACKGROUND FIRST, then he picks out a flower as the foreground. Shallow DOF and selective focus (sharpness) will help to bring out the main subject in a composition. A good flower picture has a background, a foreground and NOTHING else (this is the hardest part).

Some experiments

March 6th, 2007

1. A ring on Bible. Love is based on God’s word. The ring represents commitment, the shadow of the ring becomes a shape of heart on Bible. That page is in book “Song of songs” which basically is a love poem. Very strong soft-focus effect is applied on. imgp5617.jpg 2. A picture not in plan. The plan was to take a picuture of the memorial tower at night but the light of the tower wasn’t on. So I took this one instead. Over-explosed but I dont care. imgp5618.jpg
